Words

Ours is a world moving too easily away from God and His gift of everlasting life to one shallow and focused on self. The poems of Words were created to help those who read to remember, feel connected and focus on Christ Jesus and the marvels of the Father.

Join me in my quest to experience His world of creation and live in His light and love.

Paul's Love

Love God, love thy neighbour
how often do we speak of this?
is it not the most important commandment
we are given? Love, crosses all barriers
its charity is welcomed by all
searching, for faith, to move mountains
faced with the un-faceable
feel the knowledge love delivers
We hold dear a martyr’s life, absorbed
in a selfish act when not given in love
Charity passed in a cold hand
is not what we have been asked-told-to do
Everything in hope, faith, obedience
is made pure
in Love. - dean

Resurrection

One word, one act
tells the world to rise
and rise indeed they will
judged or passed all will rise
indeed, you can not hide
do not dismiss the 'what you know'
even if your eyes are shaded
it is so. Power from one source,
one act, one word,
linking the beginning to its end
in one - dean (Acts 10:34-48)

Rain

Rain is beautiful on a day
preceded by drought
on the face of the thirsty
on the hands of the unwashed.

Rain rinses the dusting of heat
cascades through streams
by the feet of the tired
by the hearts of the unloved.

Rain is life on a road
dragged out long
at the fainting of the tender
at the heaven of the unknown.- dean

Chapter One

Sweat dripped
upon the surface of the work
leaving tracks for rivers
Fingers press
the clay, takes shape
under hands
in a dream of art, alone
continents are formed:
mountains rise
from deserts, placed
with random care
a tree, a lake
then more,
in time, the work will
own the work and have
only the artist’s tools
to remember if they will
it was art that built the world. -dean
